OFOQ is an independent watch design studio, working from a contemporary Arab point of view and a curiosity about the way we see time.أفق استوديو مستقل لتصميم الساعات، ينطلق من منظور عربي معاصر وفضول تجاه الطريقة التي نرى بها الوقت.
Our story starts at zero, with Perspective. From there we explore colour, place, movement and calm, and turn each idea into details you can see, touch and use.تبدأ حكايتنا من الصفر، مع Perspective. ومن هذه البداية نستكشف اللون والمكان والحركة والهدوء، ونحوّل كل فكرة إلى تفاصيل تُرى وتُلمس وتُستخدم.
We believe a watch gets its character from a clear idea and care in making it. So we develop our collections thoughtfully, and reveal each family when it is ready to take its place on the wrist.نؤمن أن شخصية الساعة تنشأ من وضوح فكرتها والعناية بتنفيذها. لذلك نطوّر مجموعاتنا بتأنٍ، ونكشف عن كل عائلة حين تصبح جاهزة لتأخذ مكانها على المعصم.
Whyلماذا
Most watches are inherited, not designed.أغلب الساعات موروثة، لا مصمَّمة.
The dial almost everyone wears was settled a century ago and has been copied since. That is not a problem to solve with complication or novelty — it is a problem to solve by looking again. OFOQ exists to design the part of the watch you actually read, and to leave the rest alone.الميناء الذي يرتديه الجميع تقريبًا استقر قبل قرن ثم تكرر نسخًا. وهذه ليست مشكلة تُحل بالتعقيد أو الغرابة، بل بأن ننظر من جديد. أفق موجود ليصمّم الجزء الذي تقرؤه فعلًا من الساعة، ويترك الباقي كما هو.

Perspective is not a style. It is a way of working: take something settled, change where you stand, and keep only the change that makes it better to use. A watch designed this way is not harder to read. It is easier to recognise.المنظور ليس أسلوبًا، بل طريقة عمل: خذ شيئًا مستقرًا، وغيّر موضع وقوفك، وأبقِ فقط التغيير الذي يجعله أفضل في الاستعمال. وساعة مصمَّمة هكذا ليست أصعب قراءة، بل أسهل تمييزًا.

Abu Dhabi is a modern city — clear in its lines, quiet in its presence, and always looking forward. It does not try to look like a city from another era, and that spirit is close to ours.أبوظبي مدينة حديثة: واضحة الخطوط، هادئة الحضور، تنظر دائمًا إلى الأمام. لا تحاول أن تشبه مدينة من عصر آخر، وهذه الروح قريبة منا.
OFOQ began in a young design culture shaped by movement, ambition and a willingness to build what comes next. We are not interested in borrowing a century we did not live through.بدأ أفق في ثقافة تصميم شابة صاغتها الحركة والطموح والرغبة في بناء ما يأتي بعد. لا يعنينا أن نستعير قرنًا لم نعشه.
We want to make objects that belong to now — contemporary watches that carry a trace of where they began, without turning into a souvenir of it.نريد أن نصنع أشياء تنتمي إلى الآن: ساعات معاصرة تحمل أثر مكان بدايتها دون أن تتحول إلى تذكار منه.

One idea per watch.فكرة واحدة لكل ساعة.
If a watch needs two explanations, it is two watches, and probably neither is finished.إن احتاجت ساعة إلى شرحين فهي ساعتان، وغالبًا لم تكتمل أيٌّ منهما.

Recognisable from across a room.تُعرف من الطرف الآخر للغرفة.
If you need to read the name on the dial to know what it is, the design has not done its job.إن احتجت إلى قراءة الاسم على الميناء لتعرف ما هي، فالتصميم لم يؤدِّ مهمته.

Built for ordinary days.مصنوعة للأيام العادية.
Everything on the watch survives a commute, a desk, water and being put on in the dark.كل ما في الساعة يتحمّل الطريق إلى العمل والمكتب والماء وارتداءها في الظلام.

A quiet UAE identity.هوية إماراتية هادئة.
Our origin shows in proportion and light, not in ornament applied to a dial.أصلنا يظهر في النسب والضوء، لا في زخرفة تُضاف إلى الميناء.

Colour is a design decision, not a product line.اللون قرار تصميم، لا خط إنتاج.
A new colour has to change the character of the watch. If it does not, it is inventory, and we do not make it.اللون الجديد يجب أن يغيّر شخصية الساعة، وإلا فهو مخزون ولا نصنعه.

We would rather release less and mean all of it.نفضّل أن نُصدر أقل ونقصد كل ما نُصدره.
